Hair removal (IPL) - From £45.00
Removal of unwanted hair is a daily challenge for most men and women. Traditional methods of shaving, tweezing, waxing and electrolysis are only effective temporarily and have unwanted side effects such as skin irritation, in-growing hairs, embarrassing growth prior to other treatments. In the case of electrolysis scarring is another possible side effect.
The alternative to this is Intense Pulse Light (IPL) as this technology offers a gentle, non-invasive solution to permanent removal of unwanted hair. IPL is the first photo epilation. Technology clinically proven to treat unwanted hair safely in all skin types, if that isn't enough - the hair has to be amazing and confidently short!!! Yipee!
How it works
Highly controlled flashes of light energy ae selectively absorbed by hair-filled follicles. The melanin absorbs the light, heats the hair shaft destroying hair re-growth but not the surrounding skin.
How many treatments are needed?
The number of treatments a particular patient requires will vary due to a variety of factors including hair density, colour of skin and hair, and on location of hair on the body. Also important is which hairs are at their growing stage as hair removal is only successful on those hairs that are in their growing stage. At any given time your hairs will be at different stages of growth hence repeating an area at a subsequent visit to remove the residual hair is common. The growth cycle will be influenced by age, hormones and gender. We recommend a minimum of 3, on average 5-6 treatments.

The important thing to remember is the high specification IPL equipment used generates improved results at each application and that greatly reduces the number of visits required. At Beauty Advance Laser Clinic we operate high specification equipment that requires the use of a skilled practitioner who optimizes the settings for each patient and at each subsequent visit.
Are the treatments painful?
The treatment is not painful however, there is a slight discomfort usually described by patients as a sting or a snap. No local anaesthetic is required as the treatment is tolerable. The treatments are so effective that patients can return immediately to work or their daily routine and hence there is no lost time.
